What a delight to meet you! You make the best kind of dinner companion, and you happen to be just the sort of person I want to see at a party. Now, exactly what kind of entertainer are you? Keep in mind that you don’t have to make people laugh to entertain them with words. So let’s drill down further.

Which of these five statements best defines you as an Entertainer?

  1. I like to tell stories and anecdotes. Even when I’m trying to persuade or inform people, I do it through storytelling. What turns me on most is not so much the information I convey, important as that might be, or the results I want to get; it’s the tale itself that counts. Life is story, and I love to see people’s faces when they get absorbed in mine.
  2. I tell jokes—sometimes other people’s, sometimes my own. I’m great at finding the laugh line in a problem or situation or difficult personality, even if that personality happens to be my own. I live for the laughter and love to be known for my sense of humor.
  3. I love words and wordplay. Puns constantly play in my head, and I find myself editing my words mentally for maximum effect. The sound of words, their rhythm, and their unexpected pairings: these are the things I want to share.
  4. I have a unique vision of life, and live to convey it to others. When I’m at my best, I can transform people’s ideas of reality and make them see things differently. I’m an original, and want people to see me as one.
  5. None of the above. Maybe "Entertainer" doesn't fit the best description of my oratorical personality.
