Sound Symbolism

The position of your mouth makes things seem big or small, significant or unimportant. Use it to create special effects in a story, or in persuasion to play up or down an object or character. Sound symbolism proves that almost all language is rhetorical to some degree; when we choose our words, we choose the value-laden, emotionally charged sounds to go with them.
