One of my favorite repetitive devices is the for-want-of-a-shoe figure. Great for explaining things, it also helps you make the outcome of a proposal or prediction sound inevitable.
The figure also makes for a great parlor (or dinner-table) game. Predict the future for each other, starting with a choice the other just made, or is about to. I'd suggest making your predictions positive, even if that means making up a decision.
